We are returning with renewed determination… to defend all rights

The Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights is resuming its activities on Friday, November 28, 2025, after a month of unjustified suspension as part of a systematic campaign to silence free voices and organizations defending rights and freedoms. This is despite the fact that it has fully complied with all legal requirements and provided all the requested documents within the deadlines.

The FTDES has taken the necessary legal action and is pursuing administrative and judicial proceedings to establish the arbitrary nature of this decision, thus reaffirming its ongoing commitment to transparency and respect for the law.

The immense outpouring of support from the broad FTDES family has confirmed its role as our bulwark and unwavering foundation. That is why we are returning today stronger, with a steeled determination and a voice that nothing can silence. We have chosen to continue the fight without hesitation or retreat, confronting all forms of injustice and unfair policies with unyielding resolve and absolute consistency, for the right of every citizen to freedom, dignity, and social justice.

The FTDES returns with determination and responsibility to pursue its mission: to listen, research, support, document, and defend any marginalized or violated rights; to evaluate public policies and choices; to monitor their impact on fundamental rights; to alert to dysfunctions that undermine social justice; and to propose alternatives based on knowledge and expertise. Its role will remain rooted in knowledge-based support, constructive criticism, and the promotion of fairer and more transparent choices that respect human dignity.

Our doors remain wide open to social and environmental movements, workers, all migrants, and all rights holders. We will always be by your side, supporting your struggles and accompanying you in every fight for dignity and social justice.

Our doors are open to researchers: our expertise and knowledge production are at your disposal to enrich your scientific work with insights rooted in reality and human experience.

Our doors are open to journalists: we are committed partners in ensuring citizens have access to truthful and reliable information.

The doors of the FTDES are open to the forgotten Tunisia, to the Tunisia of hope, and to the Tunisia of the future
